Free – The Song That Found Me
I’ve been listening to this song called Free by RUMI and JINU from K-Pop: Demon Hunters. It’s not just the melody—it’s the way the words feel like they were pulled from my own life.
It’s about connection. Vulnerability. That rare feeling when someone sees all your dark corners and doesn’t flinch.
The lyric that sticks with me: “You got a dark side, guess you’re not the only one.”
It made me think about someone I met back in junior year of high school.
From the moment we talked, there was this unspoken understanding—like we’d both been carrying invisible weights, but somehow the load felt lighter when we were together.
Life took us in different directions.
I’m living the life I have now—full, messy, complicated.
They’ve been single for years, finding their own rhythm again after their last relationship went to hell.
But even though we’re living separate lives, that bond never dissolved.
It still lingers—soft, quiet, but always there.
It’s the type of connection you don’t force and you don’t lose.
Listening to Free feels like revisiting that bond.
The walls we both had.
The light we somehow found anyway.
And the truth that sometimes, you don’t need to fix each other to love each other—you just need to see each other as you are.
